Health care systems are undergoing a global transformation. As population ages, disease burden increases, the demand on healthcare systems and the needs of the pharmaceutical industry also increases. SGRR University endeavors to impart quality pharmacy education to fulfill the requirements of the Pharmaceutical industry and health needs of society at large and achieve excellence in pharmaceutical research.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in 1997 with a view to provide job oriented professional courses in Pharmacy. At present it is a unique centre of excellence at all levels of Pharmaceutical Education offering all courses in Pharmacy. At the undergraduate level it offers B. Pharm, Pharm D. courses and at post-graduate Pharm D. (PB) courses and M. Pharm in four specializations of Pharmaceutical Science. These programs have the distinct objective of equipping the students with knowledge, skill, and attitude so as to make them capable of successfully meeting the present requirements and future challenges in the Pharmacy profession.

To meet the growing international demand, SGRR University carries a unique distinction of being only university in the entire state of Uttarakhand offering Pharm. D and M. Pharm Pharmacy Practice programs.

The Pharm.D program at SGRRU gives a global edge to the students and enables the pharmacist to advise, consult, and help Doctors in dispensing medicines to patients. It is a six-year training based course wherein a student is exposed to actual pharmacy practice or clinical pharmacy services in hospital settings. Practical training is conducted at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, a 1500 bedded super specialty tertiary care Hospital funded by the parent body of the Institute. All programmes have been structured to match and exceed the requirements of the Pharmacy Council of India.


School is equipped with High-Tech Labs, Classrooms, Seminar halls, Voluminous library, Herbal Garden, Animal house facility, Wifi Campus with fully networked 24×7 the internet and Modern computer laboratories.


  • Ten students of Pham. D (Post Baccalaureate) attended skill development program on “Basics and Regulatory Aspects of Pharmacovigilance- Striving for Excellence” organized by Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission at National Coordination Centre –Pharmacovigilance Programme of India, Ghaziabad on 16 th -25 th January 2017
  • Eleven students of M. Pharm Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology participated and presented their research findings in 68th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress on the Theme “Quality Pharmaceuticals and Patient Welfare at A U College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam, A.P. on 16 th -18 th Dec 2016.
  • Five students participated in Technical Poster Presentation and Pharma quiz and secured 1 st Place in Pharma Quiz Competition at CEP-UTU ,UTU campus on 03-04 May 2016.
